Every year I like to list my favorite Bibles that I’ve reviewed during the year in order to create a list of suggested Bibles for Christmas gifts. I’ve tried to keep this list to 12 Bibles, but over the last two years, there have been too many amazing Bibles released to keep the list to 12.
So this time, I’m not even going to number them. Also, instead of providing a description with links to purchase or see the review, I’m listing the links to the reviews. This shows the Bibles and the links to the reviews, which include links to make a purchase if you choose. The Bibles are mostly in the order that I reviewed them. If I reviewed two that are similar then I kept them together.

What Bibles are on your recommended list for 2019? What are you looking forward to in 2020? Let us know in the comments.
Thank you for your reviews, Randy. My personal choice for my next bible is the Cambridge Turquoise text, red letter KJV.
Thanks Jeffrey. I love the Turquoise. It’s easily one of the best KJV’s available.
Loved your reviews very helpful and informative. Though we don’t have access to avail them here, it inspire me to read on my physical Bible I have on hand (an ESV value thinline). Hoping to have a Topaz or a Heirloom in the near future, if God’s willing. God bless you brother.
Great reviews Randy. I have a quick question though. I like to mark in my bibles and am seeking a KJV with the heaviest bible paper I can get so that underlining, highlighting….all the markings I make…..will not be a problem bleeding through. I’ll only be using this particular bible at home, so size is not a problem (although at my age, bigger is probably better). Can you make a recommendation, or at least identify KJV bibles with the heaviest and most robust paper? Thank-you.
Hi Terry. Here are the wide margin editions with the best paper that I’m aware of:
Cambridge Concord – 38gsm for older, 40 for new (or so I’ve heard)
Schuyler Canterbury – 38gsm
Hendrickson Large Print – around 40gsm and really inexpensive at Christianbook
Barbour Journal Bible – 60gsm – the heaviest on the list
Thomas Nelson Journal the Word – around 38gsm, dark cream tinted
