Bible Buying Guide, in conjunction with Zondervan and Thomas Nelson Publishers, is hosting a Thinline Comfort Print Bible Giveaway. (This giveaway has ended)
Zondervan and Thomas Nelson are very proud of their new Comfort Print texts (and rightly so). Each translation has its own font carefully designed by 2K/Denmark to reflect the style and history of the translation. To help spread the word about these beautifully designed fonts they have graciously offered to give a total of 6 Bibles away to Bible Buying Guide readers. (sorry only our readers with a US address are eligible).
To learn more about the design and purpose of these fonts visit ComfortPrintBibles.com, read Randy’s interview with Doug Lockhart, or check out his interview with 2K/Denmark to find out more about the designers.
Winners will have 6 different Bibles to choose from.

Since we do not have the Bibles in-house the following photos of the exteriors of the Bibles are taken from the publishers’ websites and the photos of the text are from other Bibles using the same fonts.
KJV
KJV’s font had to be traditional. The inspiration for the design came from a Latin New Testament, typeset with a Scottish Roman typeface and published by Thomas Nelson in 1844.
(photo borrowed from 2K/Denmark’s Thomas Nelson KJV Typeface article)
NKJV
Using the letter-forms found in a mid-1800s Thomas Nelson Bible as a starting point, the Comfort Print Typeface blends tradition with the best advances in modern typography.

NIV
Rather than going for the traditional the NIV typeface was designed to be authoritative, accessible, and global.

The large print KJV sounds intriguing. Will have to check these out.
Big fan of Nelson KJV’s and I love the new Nelson Comfort Print KJV Thinline as well as their Giant Print Reference bibles. Can’t wait for the Premier Leather Reference edition due out at end of summer.
The NIV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Black Bonded Leather sounds great!
The NIV looks nice with the comfort print. The bold print is bold and crisp. This should be easy on the eyes..
Randy,
I’ve looked at the comfort print bibles at our local Lifeway , and have been very impressed with the typography . Thank you for bringing these editions up for review. If i were to win a bible, I most certainly would hope for the NKJV text bible.{ wish it were the deluxe reader’s edition by Thomas Nelson} Thank you , Prentiss yeates
I’m planning on taking a trip to my local LifeWay to see and touch them myself. They all look fantastic!
I would love to win an NIV with tan cover.
I prefer the KJV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Burgundy Leathersoft.
The NIV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Tan Leathersoft rigid be a terrific Bible!
It is amazing to me now, at 45, how much difference print style, and not just size, helps or hinders my ability to read.
If my name is drawn, I would be interested in the NIV.
And thank you for the links about the print type itself. I must have missed these when they were discussed earlier.
I agree completely. I’m so glad that Bible publishers are finally designing Bibles like the high quality literature it is instead of a utilitarian reference work.
Sign me up!
That NIV in black bonded leather would be greatly appreciated!
I also like the KJV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Black Leathersoft.
Love reading your reviews! They are always so helpful. the NIV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Black Bonded Leather would be a great one to read! Thanks again for your great reviews
Hope to win this
The font reminds me of the one found in the Schuylers—where the lower case letters are 3/4 the size of the upper case ones. I suspect that’s why the font appears larger and easier to read. I would like an NIV in bonded leather.
I believe 2K/Denmark also designed the Milo font used in the Schuyler Bibles, but I could be mistaken. I haven’t seen a Schuyler in person yet, but I love the pictures I’ve seen of them.
Dear Thomas Nelson,
How very kind of you to offer these. A KJV Black Leathersoft (either color) would be both very nice and much appreciated.
Thank You,
George Keelin
Thanks for the give away. The NIV in bonded black looks good. I’ll have to check out the comfort print. First that I have heard of it.
Thank you for giving away a Bible. I would love the KJV burgundy

NKJV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Black Leathersoft
Id love this bible
What an interesting occurrence – I was just browsing Thomas Nelson’s and 2K/Denmark’s websites a few days ago after I’d come across the videos about the new ‘Comfort Print’ again on YouTube. I was mostly trying to see if I could find (which I did) good/clear representations of the font online (as in .pdf files and not just great pictures of the text such as can be found in abundance on this site!). I wanted to compare it with the Milo font used in Schuyler Bibles and the Lexicon used in some Cambridge’s. If I were to win, I would choose the NKJV in Black Leathersoft as I’ve never owned a NKJV (I actually don’t think I’ve so much as read but a few paragraph’s from a NKJV!). Thank you for the opportunity to participate!
Looks great. I’d like to sign up for the tan NIV.
Thanks for the giveaway i would love the NKJv comfort Text Large Print in black
NKJV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Black Leathersoft

Large Print KJV, that us the ticket!
I read the list incorrectly, as only standard print Bible’s are to choose from, with that the thinking KJV would be nice.
I like the Burgundy NKJV.
I like NKJV and it’s what I mainly read. I love that these all lay flat but seem to be fantastic quality and very well made! When I win, I’ll be selecting the NKJV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Burgundy Leathersoft – “Life and death is in the power of the tongue.” Thanks biblebuyingguide.com for being awesome.
I’d love to see these fonts in person. Sign me up – not sure which one I’d choose at this point 🙂
If you go to the website showcasing the comfort print Bibles you can download a sample .PDF of each Bible to review. It’s not as good as holding it in your hands, but I found it to be helpful.
I like the tan niv.
I like the looks of the KJV and the NKJV. I truly favor the KJV.
I love the tan NIV, but I would be thrilled to receive any one of these Bibles
I love how this print looks! I would like the NIV Thinline.
I’d love one of the KJV editions, I’m not too picky! Kudos to Thomas Nelson for doing this. They have made some really great layouts with that ComfortPrint of theirs.
I am always enthused when Bible publishers are not content with the status quo. The Comfort Print Bibles sound wonderful, especially for my aging eyes. It is exciting when they take such steps to make the Scriptures more accessible and user friendly. These are great days for Bible publishing, and for the gospel. The darker the night, the brighter the light shines.
I think the NKJV would be my go to here.
I would to get the nkjv, traditional text!

NIV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Black Bonded Leather
NIV’s the best translation
NIV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Tan Leathersoft
Nice name leathersoft.
They all look great! 2K/Denmark really does a fantastic job designing type and setting Bible text in the most beautiful way. Honestly, I’m having trouble deciding. Given that I’m not a fan of bonded leather and that the KJV doesn’t have the translator’s footnotes, if probably have to say the NKJV in black.
The burgundy NKJV would be my first choice.
I’d LOVE The NKJV, which is a Majority Text Bible, and is very close to the original Koine Greek New testament! I really appreciate this chance to WIN a NEW BIBLE! Shalom, Albion

The NKJV is my Choice. Majority Text. a GREAT BIBLE!!!
Hi Randy & Lucinda. As you probably know I’m a huge fan of the Bible Buying guide. And I advocate it anytime I have the opportunity. It’s an awesome service to we bible lovers. I would LOVE to have the NKJV Comfort print you are giving away! Frankly I would take ANY of them, and the NIV print looks beautiful, but the NKJV with red letter is an old favorite of mine! Good luck to all who enter!
God bless,
Dr. Steven R. Owen
NKJV Thinline in the black leather soft.
I would really love to have the NIV Comfort Print. I would be happy with either the black or tan, it is what is inside that is important!
My first pick would be the KJV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Burgundy Leathersoft. Cheers
NIV Thinline Bible Standard Print in Tan Leathersoft.
Hard to decide but the Black NKJV or KJV would be great
Hi, I read this blog for about 2 years and I always waited for an opportunity like that. I live in Brazil, and here is basically impossible to get a good Bible in English (the language I learned not only to speak but to love). For this reason, I’d be immensely glad and grateful if I were blessed with the KJV – the translation I think is the most beautiful in English.
May God bless you all.
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this. I would love to win the NKJV in burgundy
I would love the kjv thinline. It is an awesome bible amd the font is amazing thank you guys for doing this! And thank you thomas nelson for doing this as well!
