Illustrated Faith’s 3rd Birthday Celebration and the Created to Create #2 Unboxing
Today I have information on 2 journaling giveaways, 2 sales (1 journaling, and 1 journaling & gifts), and the unboxing photos of the devotional kit I just received from Dayspring, Created to Create #2. This kit will also be featured in many of this month’s Bible journaling posts.
Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. I did receive the kit shown free in exchange for it being featured in a post or two and my opinion but I am not required to give it a good review only an honest one.
Illustrated Faith’s Birthday Celebration
If you know anything about Bible journaling you’ve probably heard of Illustrated Faith, Shanna Noel’s Bible art journaling community. You might not have been aware however that today is their third birthday and they have lots of great ways to include everyone in the celebration.
Illustrated Faith’s Giveaway
First off Illustrated Faith is hosting a giveaway on their blog of $300 worth of some of Shanna’s favorite journaling supplies past and present.
You can enter up to 3 times by joining their newsletter, commenting on Instagram, or liking them on Facebook, and then returning to the birthday blog post (Click the picture above to go to the blog) and leaving comments. Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, September 5 at 11:59 p.m. PST. The winner will be announced on Wednesday.
Dayspring’s Giveaway & Sale
Dayspring is also hosting a giveaway to celebrate Illustrated Faith’s birthday. Their prize is one of every Illustrated Faith’ Devotional Kits (all 19). They have 7 different ways for you to earn up to 23 entries. (Click the birthday banner below to go directly to the giveaway page.) This giveaway ends September 5th at 11:59 p.m. CDT. (an hour or two before the other if I’m figuring the time zones correctly)
Dayspring is also currently having a huge end of summer sale. (click the banner to go to the main sale page) Select Illustrated Faith items are up to 70% off. There’s a lot more on sale than just art journaling products though. They have $5 journals and perpetual calendars. Several categories of items including, stationary, mugs, and gift bags are Buy One Get One free and there are lots of assorted clearance items as well. If you went to Dayspring at the beginning of this sale you might want to stop by again since they just added several “encouragement” gifts to their BOGO sale in preparation for their upcoming Encouragement Dare. The End of Summer sale ends on September 5th.
Print and Pray Shop Sale
If all of that wasn’t enough Illustrated Faith is also having a big sale in their Print & Pray Shop. All purchases (except classroom licenses) are 50% off. You’ll have to use the coupon code 3CHEERS4IF but you’ll have a couple extra days to shop since this sale doesn’t end until September 7th.
If you are unfamiliar with the Print & Pray shop it’s a marketplace where select artists have created sets of artwork for use in Bible journaling. You purchase a digital copy of the artwork and then you print it on the paper of your choice. Each purchase allows you to print the items multiple times for your own personal use and you can even purchase classroom licenses if you want to be able to use them in group settings. New sets are added every month and older ones are taken offline periodically. They have a wonderful assortment that includes devotionals, art sets for kids, and art sets designed for men, as well as the more typical art journaling fare. While these were specifically designed for Bible journaling I’m sure all the crafty ones out there could find lots of other uses for some of these. I’ll be using at least a few of the pieces I’ve purchased to go along with my new devotional kit in this months journaling posts.
Created to Create #2 Kit
Speaking of the new devotional kit, Dayspring was kind enough to send me a copy of the newest kit “Created to Create#2”. After I heard I was getting it I can confess to a little bit of impatience while waiting for it to arrive.
Here’s the kit in it’s plastic pouch on top of the shipping envelope. The Created to Create #2 kit is the second in Illustrated Faith’s newest smaller and less expensive format.
A little better view as the items first came out of the pouch
and the entire kit spread out. The new kit format includes the introduction card from Shanna, a small set of clear acrylic stamps, a roll of washi tape, 2 sheets of stickers, 3 elongated paper hearts, 8 devotional cards, and a pack of paper pieces.
Replacing the devotional booklet with devotional cards is the biggest change from the previous format. There is are 4 illustrated cards with a devotional printed on the back for your weekly devotions and 4 illustrated cards that are lined on the back to be used for either your response to the weekly devotional are for writing separate thoughts or bible studies on. One person has even pointed out that the lined cards would make great note cards to send to a friend. (this picture has one of the sheets of stickers mixed in with the cards)
The hearts are one of the most unique features of these kits and have verses or sayings on the front and a solid coordinated color on the back. These are perfect for tip-ins or bookmarks.
This washi tape with various size paint brushes all over it is adorable and I can see it being very useful for craft projects outside of Bible journaling.
Here’s a picture of one of the larger of the paper pieces. I think this one is among her favorites and might end up finding it’s way into her Bible instead of mine.
I love the theme of this devotional kit. The original Illustrated Faith Created to Create devotional kit is the one I most regret having missed by not being involved in the bible journaling community sooner. I’m so glad they made a new kit that gives us newer journalers a devotional with that same theme that is still different enough to be useful to those who have the original.
I’ve always believed in the idea that so many of us want to be creative because we were made in the image of a creator God. And I truly think that all forms of dreativity can be used for and by God. I am looking forward to prayerfully working though this kit and gaining more insight into the subject.
