Choosing My Preaching Bible part 4 – references

This is the 4th part of me choosing a Bible for preaching. This one includes some thoughts on using in a preaching Bible and reference editions. I’ve noticed that I almost never use the references in the Bible when preaching. Those times that I do tell where something is quoted from or what the text is referencing, those references are in my notes. If I was using the Bible for everything, then a reference edition would be great, and one that has a small counterpart would be even better. I’m leaning toward a cleaner text without distractions.
