Cambridge NLT Pitt Minion in Blue Calf Split Leather

The blue calf split NLT Pitt Minion has released and I wanted to share some photos and thoughts on this edition. I’ve reviewed the NLT Pitt Minion in goatskin, you can see that review for internal and size details. The copyright for the text is 2007. The blue on this is bright. It stands out a little bit more than most blue editions that I’ve seen. The calf split has a slightly rougher feel and a more pebbly grain than the goatskin edition. I love the look and feel of this leather. It has the same black paste-down liner,...

Thomas Nelson Comfort Print NKJV Large Print Thinline Bible Review

Thomas Nelson’s Comfort Print line has now been released in the New King James Version. Like the KJV and NIV, the NKJV has its own typeface designed specifically for it by 2K/Denmark. The Comfort Print typeface is part of Thomas Nelson’s beautiful Bible initiative, with the goal of making Bibles with better materials and designs. I’m reviewing the hardcover edition, ISBN: 9780718075569, made in China. Thomas Nelson provided this Bible free for review. I was not required to give a positive review, only an honest one. All opinions are my own. _________________________________________________________ This book is available at (includes some affiliate links) Amazon Books-a-Million...

Crossway’s Large Print Thinline Bible Review

Crossway’s newly released Large Print Thinline Bible is an attempt to provide an edition that’s both easy to read and easy to carry. It presents the 2016 ESV in an uncluttered layout without references. For this review, Crossway provided a genuine leather edition, ISBN: 9781433555961. __________________________________________ Buy from Amazon (includes affiliate link) __________________________________________ Binding My review edition is black genuine leather. It has a stamped grain that looks and feels nice. The front of the cover is clear of printing, while the spine has Holy Bible, ESV, English Standard Version, Crossway, and four bands printed in gold. It...

Coming Soon – Slimline Longprimer

Coming soon from R.L. Allan is a new slimline Longprimer called the 43. The Longprimer (see our review of the 53 in brown here) is a staple in the premium KJV market. It was recently updated with a cleaner scan and is now available in several covers and a larger edition with wide outer margins called the 63 Longprimer Sovereign (see a guest review here). With the recent paper improvements the Longprimer has been getting larger. There are still a market for those who prefer thinner Bibles. I still like the 32gsm edition that I reviewed years ago because...

Hendrickson KJV Thinline Reference Bible Review

Hendrickson’s KJV Thinline Reference Bible is a low-end thinline with some no-nonsense features that many will appreciate. I like thinlines because they’re easy to carry, but unfortunately most low-end editions skimp on paper and print quality. They’re also usually glued. That’s not the case with this Hendrickson. To get this price it does make a few sacrifices. Are they worth it? Absolutely. In this review I’m taking a look at the imitation edition (ISBN: 9781619709591 provided for free by Hendrickson). _________________________________ Buy from (includes some affiliate links) Amazon Barnes & Noble and many local Bible bookstores _________________________________ BINDING The cover is...
