Noah: Man of Destiny Review

I recently finished reading Noah: Man of Destiny by Tim Chaffey & K. Marie Adams.  Since the Bible doesn’t say much about Noah before he started building the Ark the writers have speculated about what his life would have been like. This is Book 1 of The Remnant Trilogy and covers about 8 years of his early life. It starts with him living with his parents and working on their farm but dreaming of a chance to apprentice as a wooodworker. He gets his chance at his coming of age party but not the way he expected. Instead of working with...

Journaling Bibles for Christmas

Bible journaling (using words, artwork, or some combination) has become increasingly popular and there’s a good chance someone you know would like a journaling Bible for Christmas. In previous years the number of new journaling Bibles would have been small but not in 2016. Here’s a list of some of my favorites suitable for gift giving. Journal the Word Bible The Journal the Word Bible is a good basic journaling Bible. It’s single column with lightly lined margins suitable for any style of journaling. It’s also red letter (a feature we’ve only recently seen added to journaling Bibles). What makes this stand out...

Quick Look – Hendrickson KJV Expressions Bible

Another beautiful journaling Bible with red letter arrived today, the Hendrickson KJV Expressions Bible. Besides this brown embossed (debossed?) hardcover it is also available in plain black or red, yellow, and teal print. It has a double column, paragraph format and 2″ lined margins. It includes a harmony of the gospels and a few other scripture lists in the back. The red lettering is a dark rich red and it has an 8 point font. The paper seems to be the standard journaling Bible paper that should be sturdy enough for most applications. I’m looking forward to working with...

Quick Look – MEV The Promises of God Creative Journaling Bible

I got a review copy of Passio’s The Promises of God Creative Journaling Bible just a couple of days ago. This is the only Modern English Version (MEV) journaling Bible I am aware of and it has a mixture of illustrations, and lined and unlined journaling space.   The paper is a very light cream and it is set up in a double column format with a 2.5″ margin on the outside. Margins on the right side are lined and those on the left are unlined (the faint lines you see here are show-through from the back of the...
