UPDATE – campaign hasn’t reached its goal and has now been canceled. If there is any interest they might try again in the future.
Bardin & Marsee (makers of the Waterproof Bible) have just started a Kickstarter campaign for their newest Bible project. If they reach $55,00 by August 22nd they will be producing a King James Large Print Waterproof Bible. Here is one of their photos showing what it will look like and some of it’s features.
It will be available in a brown or black cover, has an 11 point font, and will be printed on one of the thinnest papers they have used so far to keep the weight down. The thinner paper is just as water, stain and tear resist as the other Bibles they make.
A larger print has been one of their most requested features and they decided to combine it with room to write or draw. They aren’t sure yet whether this will be a permanent part of their line so if you want one you’ll want to be sure and reserve a copy now.
Pledges start at $10 with a $90 or more pledge currently getting you a copy and a $200 pledge securing an extra one for a friend or family member as well.
Those of us that art journal might have to adjust our art styles slightly. Since this paper is made to resist water no gesso will be necessary and wetter art supplies won’t harm it but they will require extra drying time and some solvent based supplies shouldn’t be used over the text.
