Awesome Science Explore Mount St. Helens DVD and Study Guide Review

Awesome Science Explore Mount St. Helens DVD and Study Guide Rev 003

I’ve seen many Creation videos on Mount St. Helens. I was convinced that there wouldn’t be anything new on tis DVD. I am very glad that I was wrong. Like all Awesome Science DVD’s, this episode gives more information in a shorter amount of time, and gives information that I’ve not seen anywhere else.

May 18, 1980, at 8:32 am, Mount St. Helens in state of Washington erupted, causing the largest landslide in modern history. For the next nine hours, the volcano released the explosive power equivalent to one atomic bomb every second. This catastrophic event reshaped the surrounding landscape, leaving geological features that many call “God’s gift to Creationists.”

In this DVD, Noah Justice goes through many of the geological formations at Mount St. Helens including canyons, strata, coal, rapid erosion, and petrified trees. He shows how each of these formed rapidly. Mount St. Helens shows that it doesn’t take millions of years for these geological features to form. It just takes a catastrophic event, such as the flood of Noah. Noah goes on location to Ape Cave and shows many tunnels and hole formations made by evaporated trees.

The study guide summarizes the information from the DVD and contains many activities to help with learning. Activities include true/false, multiple choice, fill in the blank, and discussion questions. The guide is great for individual or group study.

Like all Awesome Science DVD’s and study guides, I highly recommend Explore Mount St Helens DVD and Study Guide for homeschool, Creation studies, group studies, and individual study. There is more information in this 30 minute DVD than I’ve seen in many other DVD’s and seminars and this information is very easy to follow and understand. Highly recommended.

This DVD was provided for free from Master Books for this review. I was not required to give a positive review- only an honest review.
