Holman has transitioned the HCSB to the newest version, called simply CSB, and now we can expect lots of new Bibles in this newest translation including this one: the Large Print Ultrathin Reference Bible. The LPUT is a staple format for Holman. It’s one they’ve perfected and I’ve reviewed several in other translations, but this one has one major difference from all the others: an edge-lined goatskin leather cover. Note – This was an advanced copy, so there could be some minor editorial changes since it went to print. ____________________________ Buy from Amazon ____________________________ Features CSB (Christian Standard Bible)...Read More

The Holman KJV Reader’s Bible was designed with reading in mind. It’s a Bible without all the other apparatus that gets in the way – chapter and verse numbers, reference and footnote keys, section headings, etc. I like being able to read God’s Word without the hindrances and distractions that are found in the typical Bible. A KJV that focuses on reading is something I’ve wanted for a long time. The Holman is very much their KJV version of the Crossway ESV Reader’s Bible. In this review I’ll make comparisons with the ESV, so if you’re familiar with Crossway’s...Read More
Military families are different from most families. They have to deal with a lot of moving around and being apart for long periods of time. They deal with the worry of the day-to-day dangers of work, and they’re always on the clock. The Holman HCSB Military Families Bible was made specifically for them. At its core the Military Families Bible is an HCSB Large Print Reference Bible. What sets it apart is the 60 devotions and prayers in the back that were written specifically for military families. I spent a day in Cedar Springs Christian Bookstore in Knoxville, TN secretly filming reviews and taking pictures of Bibles. This isn’t as detailed as my standard reviews, and some of the photos and videos are blurry, but maybe there’s enough information here to help you decide if this Bible is for you. The Holman Illustrator’s Notetaking Bible is an HCSB edition made for those that want to draw, paint, and color in their Journaling Bibles. This one has over 600 lightly drawn illustrations that you can color or paint. There’s lots of room to add your own artwork as...Read More
