I’m waiting for a revised KJV Thompson Large Print…
I would love that. I’ve asked for it but there are no current plans for a revision.
Greetings Brethren, My Name is Paul Sterling Thompson I would love to be the next Thompson to create that Super Giant Print Thompson Chain Bible. Brother Brown remember many are called but few are chosen. I believe You too are chosen. I think of the Great Prophet Ezekiel and the six men at the gate….You know… Charles Wesley John Wesley, Wesley and Charles Wesley with Frank Charles Thompson and me. Some how I believe you fit in there too. God Bless you. May our Lord Jesus Christ Be with you. Amen.
Pity. That means they need new management…
have any idea if this will have the 2016 permanent text edition?
I’m wondering this too, Michael. Do you know if this is the 2011 or 2016 ESV, Randy?
2016. You can see the review here:
Will this edition have the completed chains as in the NKJV versions?
Hi Brian. Here’s the info I got from Kirkbride:
“All NM’s are updated. All marginal notes are updated like the NKJV.”
Hi Randy, do you know what the most updated version of the Thompson chain reference bible is? Thanks.
Hi Jane. The ESV is the most updated.
Randy, As the Kirkbride cupboard is now almost bare, do you know what is being redone in what version and when we are likely to see a fuller cupboard? Many thanks!
They’re restructuring because the CEO died recently. Once they get through this, they’ll make a new plan and get started. I’m not sure when that will be.
Ah! Many thanks!
I’m truly glad to have already obtained TCR’s in the following versions : KJV, NASB (1977), NKJV, NIV (1984), and ESV – they are all used by participants when I hold my regular “serious seminars” at home! I would like to add to the collection the proposed NASB (2020); but I am now wondering whether we shall see it! Have there been/are there TCR,s in any other edition?
As an aside….does anyone else find the TCR’s to be excellent just for reading as well as for study?
As far as I know, those are the only translations it was produced in. I like reading from the TCR. It actually has a clean text. I like how the references and footnotes are out of the way but next to their verses, and the text doesn’t include letters and numbers to get in the way.
Greetings, Randy! Have you heard anything from or about Kirkbride in the matter of bringing out any TCR’s! The cupboard is might bear, and sellers are charging mighty prices for what stock they do have! I am particularly vexed that there are no ESV’s to be had!
For ““bear”, read “bare”! I hate auto-corrections!
Hi Alexander. I heard they’re producing another batch soon, but I don’t know when. If Kirkbride releases any info, I’ll pass it along.
Many thanks, Randy! I have had complaints from at least a dozen folk on the absence of the ESV TCR!
