I’m using mine to take notes during services. (Can you tell my pastor usually gives lots of scriptures). I change pens after each service to make it easier to tell where one ends and the next one starts. I’ve used a wide variety of ink pens, gel pens, fine line markers, and pencils with no problems but I wouldn’t recommend using Sharpies or highlighters that aren’t made for Bibles (the two types of pens I’ve learned to avoid for any Bible and many books). It lays flat while I’m using it and closes nicely without the cover constantly popping up.

The paper is a little thinner than the Strength and Dignity journal I reviewed a few weeks ago so I don’t think I’d use paints in it, except maybe full bodied acrylics, without gesso.

The same interior pages are also available with three other covers at the same price; Two different tan and brown ones featuring either Philippians 4:13 (with copper gilt) or a different presentation of Jeremiah 29:11 (no gilt) and a two-tone blue one (silver gilt) featuring the serenity prayer.

I’ve been enjoying using mine for two months (a minimum of 3 times a week) now with no noticeable signs of wear and can recommend it for most people looking for a journal for Bible notes (or any other kind of notes).

It is available at Amazon, Christian Art Gifts, and many local Bible bookstores.
