We recently visited the Tennessee Bible Museum in Pigeon Forge. It features hundreds of rare Bibles and scripture-related exhibits, which you can see on a guided tour. Exhibits include an early Latin Bible from 1480, a copy of the largest Bible ever printed, several KJVs from the 1600s, famous Bibles with misprints, Bibles dating from the Revolutionary War, and lots more. It also has a large Christian bookstore with lots of Bibles and old pages (leaves) for sale. The photos in this article only scratch the surface of what you’ll see at the Tennessee Bible Museum in Pigeon Forge.

Tennessee Bible Museum Tour

The Tennessee Bible Museum is behind two walls of the large store and is divided into smaller rooms that take you through Bible manuscripts and publishing history. Unlike many museums, which have large posters to read, the information is provided by a tour guide. The tour guide, who owns the Bibles and other museum content, starts the tour by calling all of those who bought tickets to the museum entrance. He tells the stories as you journey through the rooms. He’s knowledgeable, lets you touch the Bibles and other items, quizzes the audience, and provides the answers. He kept on topic, made it interesting, and was able to answer all of the questions we threw at him. Our tour took a little over an hour. I highly recommend this tour.

Tennessee Bible Museum Gift Shop

The gift shop is actually a large Bible bookstore. Unlike most museums, which focus on the museum and then see the gift shop last, you walk into the store and then go to the museum at the time of the tour. The store includes lots of old Bibles and books and several new Bibles and books including many replicas. You can just spend your time in the store and not take the museum tour. The store also showcases lots of old Bibles and even has a few printing presses. If you’re in the area, it’s worth going to the store even if you don’t have time for the tour. There is enough to see in the store alone.
