Rose Publishing is releasing A Study Guide in the Book of Hebrews as a pamphlet. It contains seven lessons with each cover a chapter or two – corresponding to the seven sections of the book of Hebrews. It contains facts about the book, an outline, charts, and covers the major themes. The section on chapter 11 is interesting because it contains a nice chart giving each person’s name, description, and the OT reference.
The primary point of the study is holding to the faith in the face of opposition and showing that the new covenant is the better covenant. It not only provides a good overview of the book of Hebrews, but it also provides some background history from the Old Testament and then gives comparisons to the new covenant- showing how Jesus fulfils the requirements of the Law. There are lots of comparative charts, comparing Jesus to others such as Moses, the high priest and Melchizedek, to illustrate this.
The lessons are concise and cover a great deal of information. This is a good study that can be used for personal study, group study, classroom, and sermon-prep. It’s well-written and easy to follow.

Rose Publishing provided a pre-release edition for review. I was not required to give a positive review- only an honest review.
Dear Randy:
I have struggled from the beginning in getting everything out of the Book of Hebrews that I know is in there. The writing is so dense, packed with details, well reasoned and appropriate, it competes in my mind as perhaps contending with the Book of Romans for the title of “The Masterpiece of the New Testament. Every time I read Hebrews I come away with new information or a different take on what is written. I find this true in general with the entire bible, but especially so in Hebrews.
I haven’t read this particular commentary on Hebrews, indeed I have taken most of my notes from the Bible itself, and Matthew Henry’s unabridged. I have though studied in Rose’ commentary of the End Times to great profit. This publisher is in my judgement, focused on including all valid scholarship available in whatever area they are working with. I find their books to have the layout and supporting graphics, cut lines reference citations etc. much like a text book aimed at a reading population probably at early college level. Their writing is clear and accessible to all and it is fair and comprehensive, choosing to present each viewpoint fairly. I think I will contact them and buy this commentary on what is for me, a “difficult” book.
Thanks again for your review, you save me a lot of time when I go to the bookstore. God Bless you and your ministry.
Yours in Christ
Don Denison
