I took a look at the NIV Clarion this morning. Here are some photos. I’ve included the NKJV and ESV for comparison.
In my opinion this is the prettiest Clarion so far. It’s slightly thicker than the other Clarions. It will be available in July.

Was a really great translation, still have my 84 edition, then they went all “new” world in 2011, in my opinion & the popularity demand seems to back it; this was a huge error in judgement on their part,
Yes, I agree a great looking bible, personally own two Clarions in goatskin (ESV & KJV), you can’t go wrong with this format.
Looking forward to getting mine. EVBible has them starting 8.16.2016 for 205$ for goatskin, and 135$ for calfsplit. CBD has them for 120$ for calfsplit, and only 166$ for goat.
Ready to dig in. Been a long wait
Got one from Amazon. I agree with you that it is thicker than other Clarions. I believe they have changed the paper. (Take a look on the publishing details page and note the reference to the paper. ) I am not getting the page curl like I have experienced on other Clarions. I have waited for this for over 5 years when I was then introduced to the new Clarion line by Cambridge reps at a conference. I have bought three other ESVs but wanted the NIV. I couldn’t be happier with 10 days of reading and two Bible classes under my belt.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I touched it briefly at ICRS and didn’t pay close enough attention to the paper. I’m not a fan of the 26gsm in the other editions because of the page curl.
Hi Randy, do you know what gsm paper thickness the NIV Clarion uses?
Kind regards,
James
Hi James. It’s 28gsm.
