NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition Review

The NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition is a version of the NET Bible Large Print Thinline. This is a double-column, paragraph text edition with a reduced set of footnotes. It has a mid-size footprint, but it’s thin and light enough to be a carry Bible. The Art Edition is the same Bible and adds artwork from the NET Abide Bible Journals at the beginning of each book. The NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition is available in blue or brown Leathersoft. I’m looking at both covers and highlighting the new content. Both are printed in South Korea.

NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition Binding

Both editions have Leathersoft covers with art debossed onto the front. The art is the lamb used for the first page of Revelation in this Bible and for the cover of the book of Revelation Abide journal. Both have a textured color and a smooth grain. I love the colors. They also have perimeter stitching. The spine has the artwork from the book of John and the text printed in gold. Four dark blocks indicate non-raised spine hubs. Both have paper liners that match their covers. The liner doubles as the presentation page. Both are sewn and have overcast stitching for the first signature. The overall size is 6 1/2 x 9 5/8 x 1 1/4″. They weigh 1 lb, 15.3 oz.

Ribbons

The ribbons are 3/8″ double-sided satin. The brown Leathersoft has one brown and one gold, while the blue Leathersoft has one dark blue and one gold. The colors are a perfect match with the covers. They’re long enough to pull to the corner to open the Bible easily. They look and feel elegant.

NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition Art

The art is from the NET Abibe Bible Journals. This is the art that was used for the covers of each book. The journals printed the art in gold foil. This prints them in thick black lines. The drawings help set the scene of the book, so you know some of what the book is about at a glance. I like the art and I’m glad to see it added. Artwork always draws my attention. This art is simple and informative.

Book Introductions

The Book introductions are one page and are broken up into two sections. The first section provides a survey of the book that includes the date of writing, author, audience, and key events. The second section discusses Christ in the book. This covers typology and prophecy with references to the fulfillments. The introductions include lots of Scripture references. They’re well-written and informative. They do have a touch of theology, but most of the information is for historical context or factual information. I think all denominations can use the information. As always, use the information for reference and do your own study.

NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition Conclusion

I like the NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition a lot. If I were to use the NET as my primary carry and preaching Bible, this would be my choice. I love the overall size. The print is large but not too large for all-around use. The paper is thin, but it’s still highly opaque and easy enough to turn. The overcast stitching adds strength. It makes me think they had rebinding the text block in mind. I’d use the Leathersoft until it fell apart and then rebind it without a second thought. I especially like the addition of artwork and book introductions. The book introductions provide a lot of solid information, but it’s the art that draws me to it. If you’re interested in a NET for everyday use, the NET Bible Large Print Thinline Art Edition is a great choice.
