Joy Creative recently contacted me to see if I was interested in reviewing some of their Bibles. They create custom-engraved Bibles with artwork laser-etched onto the cover. They hand letter and laser engrave their designs onto imitation leather Bibles in most major translations including the KJV, NKJV, NASB, ESV, CSB, NIV, and NLT. There are lots of designs available and they do custom work, add personalization, etc.
They provided us with several Bibles with laser engraving on the cover in exchange for an honest review. They wanted to showcase two Bibles specifically and wanted me to choose a custom design on any Bible I wanted. The engravings look amazing. They look professional. The laser engraving looks sharp and clean. They don’t cut through the cover, so there are no indications in the liner. The Bibles included custom bookmarks. Here’s a look at the Bibles they sent us.
ESV Journaling Bible with Family Tree
The first Bible is a Large Print ESV Single Column Journaling Bible in brown TruTone with a family tree design on the front. This has the family name placed within the tree and under the family tree is the established date of the family. The idea is that brides and grooms would use this as their wedding guestbook. Guests would highlight their favorite verse and write the name in the margin.
ESV Compact Bible with 1st Corinthians 16:14
The second Bible they sent is An ESV Compact Bible in brown TruTone with 1st Corinthians 16:14 on the front. This works perfectly as wedding party favors for groomsmen and bridesmaids, and I think the bride and groom would enjoy giving one to each other during the ceremony. For this one, they engraved any name we wanted. I asked them to engrave Lucinda’s name on this one. It stands out and makes an inexpensive Bible
Custom Bible
For my custom design, I could specify anything I wanted to be engraved on the front and back. They had plenty of Bibles and designs to choose from. The problem is I liked everything they had and I’m terrible at making decisions. I asked them to place Isasiah 9:6 on the front cover of an NKJV Open Bible in brown Leathersoft and had them choose the design for it. The design is more impressive than I expected. The text includes several font styles that work well together.
