Explore Yosemite and Zion National Parks is episode 4 in the Awesome Science series. Yosemite National Park is filled with granite cliffs, huge rocks, and a gigantic valley. Zion Canyon has huge sandstone layers, arches, hanging valleys, and steep canyon walls. Both sites have plenty of features for geological study.
This episode covers the geologic features of both sites and analyzing them scientifically, such as steep canyon walls that show water erosion and curved canyon walls show glacial erosion. There are plenty of pictures to go along with the science.
This episode goes into great detail of radiohalos and how they show that granite was formed quickly rather than over millions of years. It also shows how this ties in with problems with dating methods using Uranium 238.
It also covers the ice age, showing that instead of many smaller ice ages that the evolutionists believe, there was one large ice age after the flood of Noah. It shows how the flood best explains the geological features of Yosemite and Zion National Parks.
The study guide covers the key concepts from the DVD and includes activities such as fill in the blank, order the events, true/false, and Bible study bonus activities.
I like the Awesome Science series and this is another great episode that teaches more understandable science in 30 minutes than most DVDs do in 2 hours. I recommend Awesome Science Explore Yosemite and Zion National Parks DVD with Study Guide for anyone interested in Creation science. It is a great teaching tool for homeschool and laymen.
Master Books provided this DVD and study guide free for review. I was not required to give a positive review- only an honest review.
