Spoken Word of God Ministries has produced the Bible and dramatized Bible stories for many years. I’ve heard a lot of their work and I’ve enjoyed it. When I came across their booth at the International Christian Retail Show I had to stop for a chat. I’m so glad I did. The associate running the booth was very passionate about the work they do (something I appreciate in a publisher). She gave me a review copy of Dramatized Bible Stories Volume 1.
It includes 4 CD with a total of 12 15-minute stories.
This stories include:
- Elijah – Fed by the Birds
- Elijah – God Sends the Fire
- The Crucifixion
- The Resurrection
- Jonah – Fish Catches Man
- The Devil’s Jug
- The Boy Who Stayed Behind/ The Annunciation
- The Birth of Jesus
- The Scarlet Cord Escape
- The Lion Who Got His Dinner
- Five Stones and a Sling
- Noah and the Big Boat
The dramatization has male and female actors with a female narrator, and some simple music clips. It doesn’t sound cheap or cheezy. It is aimed toward a young audience. The stories tell facts about the culture of the time and emphasize Scripture. It brings the stories down to the children’s level and emphasizes the most important parts. The stories start or end with a song and a parting thought that can work as children’s devotionals.
The stories were developed for kids (but I enjoy them too!) and are recommended for Sunday Schools, VBS, Home School, Christian Schools, daycare, around the house, and car rides.
You can see more about The Treasure Chest Dramatized Bible Stories at Spoken Word’s website: SpokenWordofGod.org.
Spoken Word of God Ministries provided this CD free for review. I was not required to give a positive review – only an honest review. My opinions are my own.
