NLT LASB in Coral

Tyndale recently sent us an NLT LASB in a coral cover. (New Living Translation, Life Application Study Bible) They keep expanding the cover options as well as combinations of a few other features (red letter, thumb indexing). They want to make sure there is a version of this 2020 EPCA Bible of the Year award-winning Bible for every reader.

You can follow this link to see my original review of the 3rd edition Life Application Study Bible in 3 sizes.

Cover

I personally like hardcover study Bibles. This pretty cloth over board cover in coral would be my choice over the leatherlike covers. The actual color has a little more of a pink cast to it than this picture looks. (It is really hard to get a picture of the coral Bibles that doesn’t look red or orange instead.) I like them because they lay flat so well on a table or desk where I usually use a study Bible.

This one has gold gilt page edges and 1 attached ribbon marker. It’s the same size as the teal leathersoft standard size Bible at 9″ x 6.75″ x 2″ and weighs a couple of ounces more because of the heavier cover at just under 3 lbs, 11 ounces.

This is the first NLT Life Application Study Bible I’ve seen that comes with a muted colored thick cardboard slipcover instead of the standard bright green clamshell box.

Red Letter

When the 3rd Edition NLT LASB first released red-letter was only available in the large print edition. Now the standard size has red-letter editions too, including this coral Bible. All of the notes and other features are the same.

The red ink is between a medium and dark red and stays a consistent color throughout the Bible. I like having both black and red letter edition Bibles.

Other Covers

Coral is one of my favorite colors. That doesn’t mean everyone else wants a coral Bible or even that I want every Bible I own to be coral. Luckily, Tyndale makes lots of other cover options on all sizes of the LASB. The black print, standard size, NLT Life Application Study Bible now comes in hardcover, black genuine leather, and 4 different leatherlike covers; brown/brown mahogany, teal blue, black/onyx, and dark brown/brown. The newer red-letter version comes in most of the same cover options (the fourth shade of leathersoft is purple instead of dark brown/brown) buts adds an eBook format and this coral cloth overboard. There is also a teal flowered cloth over board coming later this year.

Final Thoughts on the NLT LASB in Coral

The NLT LASB in coral cloth over board is a nice edition of the Life Application Study Bible. I love that Tyndale (and lots of other publishers) make so many cover and print options available to all us bible readers.

If you don’t already have a 3rd Edition Life Application Study Bible and have been thinking about getting one this would be a nice choice. If coral, red-letter, or hardcover, aren’t among your first choices in a Bible Tyndale currently has so many other options on this Bible you are almost certain to find one you like.
