At ICRS I had the privilage of interviewing Cassandra Laymon. Cassandra is an author, speaker, and the president of Beacon Wealth Consultants, Inc. In her book I Found Jesus in the Stock Market: How Biblically Responsible Investing Can Change Your Heart, Too, Cassie discusses our responsibility of choosing investments that fit our biblical worldview. She discusses our responsibility to research companies before making investments, communicating with companies about their choices, when to sell a stock, the importance of continuing your research into a company, how to know which companies are okay to invest in, and the services her company provides to do this research for you. She also talks about the difference in responsibility between consumers and owners.
I enjoyed talking with Cassie about her book. She is knowledgeable and passionate about investing based on biblical principles. Her book is well-written and I highly recommend reading it before investing in 401k or stocks of any kind.
