Here’s a look at what’s inside (Thanks to Chris Bloom for asking and to Lindsay from Crossway for providing the images):

The interior bares a similarity (but with slightly fewer words per line) to Crossway’s ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, one of my all-time favorite Bibles. The Single Column Heritage will be a Bible to look forward to.

I’d love to see a .pdf of the interior layout. If the inside looks as nice as the Legacy’s, this could be a Clarion-killer.

Hi Chris. I agree. I was thinking about the Clarion when I was posting this. As soon as something is available I’ll be sure to post it.

Extremely curious as to whether the width is the same as the Clarion–or is this the same as the Clarion, but with cheaper binding?

Hi Adam. It looks like the Clarion is 1/2 inch wider. Of course the Clarion’s page includes references, so the Heritage might have more text per page even though it’s not as wide. I’m also curious as to how they will compare. I’ll do a side-by-side comparison when I get the Heritage.

Oops, I meant thicker. Yes, it’ll be an interesting comparison. I’m glad there’s a cheaper option than the clarion–there was a real need for an affordable single column but compact ESV with a decent font size.

Good point. The Clarion has 2080 thin pages. The Heritage will have 1824. The Clarion is 27 oz and the Heritage will be 31 oz. This makes me hope the Heritage will have thicker paper in order to be heavier. I’m just guessing of course, but I really see the Heritage being that cheaper option to the Clarion (just like you said) but with better paper, making it a step above at 1/2 – 1/3 the price. I would have liked to have references though.
