There are a lot of interesting Bible releases for October 2017. Randy and I are going to be very busy with reviews. Please keep in mind I’m using the most current information I have available. Things happen (good and bad) and release dates get moved both directions with little advance notice sometimes. I welcome corrections and additions and this post will be updated during the month of October 2017 if new information becomes available. My main focus when we attend a Bible trade show like Christian Product Expo is Bible journaling. I’m not just interested in art journaling. I like the more traditional writing form of journaling as well, and everything that goes along with both types. Wide Margin Bibles Wide Margin Bibles are great whether you journal with words, artwork, or some combination of the two. Tyndale had their Scribe Bible on display. While I think paraphrases like “The Message” are better as commentary than for serious Bible study this is a nice journaling edition. One more translation finally has a wide-margin...Read More
At any Christian Product show you know the first thing that Randy will be looking at is Bibles. There were a large number for him (and me) to look at on our recent trip to the Christian Retail Expo in Murfreesboro, TN. Here are photos of a handful we were allowed to photograph and share. Tyndale’s Swindoll Study Bible We’ll be reviewing this one soon. Tyndale’s NLT Large Print Slimline Bible The Large Print Slimline Bible had a clean layout and good paper. Christian Art’s KJV Giant Print and Super Giant Print Bibles The first 3 pictures are of...Read More
Schuyler’s personal size edition of the KJV Canterbury is in the editing stage and they hope to have it available in spring 2018. This edition will be red letter. They’ve retained the red drop caps. This edition will have thinner paper than the regular edition and will not include a concordance. It will include maps. The glossary will depend on how small the font becomes when they shrink it. I suspect it will be too small to be useful. Time will tell. You can read our review of the regular Canterbury in calfskin here. You can purchase a Canterbury...Read More
Earlier this week Randy and I got to attend Munce Group’s Christian Product Expo for Fall 2017. It is a gathering of publishers, writers, manufacturers, distributors, and book store owners (with a few media/bloggers thrown in) dedicated to Bibles and Bible related merchandise. With various different events going on besides the show floor it is designed not just to generate sales but to let all the various branches of the Bible industry encourage and inform one another. We like attending these shows because we get to see friends from previous shows, meet in person our industry contacts, become aware...Read More
