The Greek New Testament was produced at Tyndale House, Cambridge. It was a 10 year project created under the oversight of Dr. Dirk Jongkind and Dr. Peter Williams and is a revision of a Greek New Testament from the nineteenth century by Samuel Prideaux Tregelles. They led a team of scholars to reevaluate the manuscripts in order to create this edition. They looked at everything from spelling to paragraph choices, and considered recent discoveries of the scribal habits of the earliest manuscripts. This New Testament was produced by both Cambridge and Crossway. I’m reviewing the Crossway edition, ISBN: 9781433552175. Crossway provided this Greek New...Read More
I recently received a copy of Crossway’s new ESV Illuminated Bible, Art Journaling Edition. With hundreds of gold ink illustrations by renowned artist Dana Tanamachi this Bible is a unique addition to the Bible market that’s designed to help you reflect on the beauty of God’s Word. ISBN: 9781433558313 Crossway provided this Bible free for review. I was not required to give a positive review, only an honest one. All opinions are my own. _________________________________________________________ This book is available at (includes some affiliate links) Amazon Books-a-Million Thrift Books and many local Bible bookstores _________________________________________________________ CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS I have the navy cloth over...Read More
The ESV Systematic Theology Study Bible from Crossway focuses on doctrine with a focus on Reformed theology. It places articles of key doctrines throughout the text. It’s different from the standard study Bible format in that it doesn’t include verse-by-verse commentary, charts, or maps (in the text or in the back). I’m reviewing the hard cover edition – ISBN: 9781433553370, printed in USA. _____________________________________________ This book is available at (includes some affiliate links) Amazon Barnes & Noble Books-A-Million and many local Bible bookstores _____________________________________________ Cover and Binding This edition is hard cover with a dust jacket. Crossway’s ESV Journaling Bible, Writer’s Edition, is different from most journal Bibles. Most place the text in either a double or single column with a large outer margin for notes and artwork. They usually have close to a square shape. Keeping a slim width while presenting a double-column layout, the Writer’s Edition places the writing space at the bottom of the page. In this review I take a look at the hardcover edition in black, ISBN: 9781433552809, which Crossway provided for free. _________________________________ Buy from (includes affiliate links) Amazon _________________________________ Cover and Binding My review copy has a black hardcover...Read More
Crossway’s newly released Large Print Thinline Bible is an attempt to provide an edition that’s both easy to read and easy to carry. It presents the 2016 ESV in an uncluttered layout without references. For this review, Crossway provided a genuine leather edition, ISBN: 9781433555961. __________________________________________ Buy from Amazon (includes affiliate link) __________________________________________ Binding My review edition is black genuine leather. It has a stamped grain that looks and feels nice. The front of the cover is clear of printing, while the spine has Holy Bible, ESV, English Standard Version, Crossway, and four bands printed in gold. It...Read More
