Authorized: The Use and Misuse of the King James Bible by Dr. Mark Ward is a book about whether or not today’s society should use the KJV as a primary translation. He uses lots of situational stories to demonstrate his points and provides lots of examples from Scripture. In this 154 page book, Dr. Ward discusses the KJV with the utmost respect. He isn’t attacking anyone (including KJV-onliests). He isn’t criticizing the KJV translators. He’s respectful of them. Dr. Ward is 100% positive toward the quality of the KJV and the translators. Thomas Nelson has continued to replace their older editions with their new Comfort Print typeface. My latest edition is the Giant Print KJV Reference Bible. This is a large print KJV along the lines of the Longprimer or Turquoise, but with inexpensive materials making it a great choice for the low-end market. I’m reviewing the bonded (it’s actually imitation – it was marked incorrectly at Amazon) leather edition, ISBN: 9780785215288, made in China. _________________________________________________________ This book is available at (includes some affiliate links) Amazon Books-A-Million Church Source Thrift Books and many local Bible bookstores _________________________________________________________ This Bible was purchased for review. The New Cambridge Paragraph Bible is a revision of the King James that, instead of revising the later revisions, returns back to the 1611 edition in an effort to produce a text the translators had in mind. Spelling and punctuation is updated to today’s English. The original New Cambridge Paragraph Bible was produced in 2005. The 2011 personal size edition makes several corrections and, as the name suggests, reduces the size to something more manageable for every day use. The New Cambridge Paragraph Bible is basically a text edition with translator’s footnotes that sets the standard for a modern...Read More
Pocket New Testaments are one of the top choices for carry and witnessing on the go. They come in many sizes with various features. One thing that practically all KJV New Testaments have in common is small print and the archaic verse-by-verse format. Trinitarian Bible Society’s Paragraphed New Testament (ISBN: 9781862283855, model 55A/R (Burgundy)) presents a different design. It presents the King James text in large print single column paragraph format. This edition was produced by Cambridge for TBS, and printed and bound in Belarus. ________________________________ Buy from TBS ________________________________ TBS provided this New Testament free for review.
