In my attempts to learn new lettering styles I recently purchased Creative Lettering and Beyond. It is put out by Walter Foster and has 4 sections, Modern Calligraphy, Illustrated Lettering, Chalk Lettering, and Lettering Crafts each written by a different artist. The book includes practice pages (and they give you permission to photocopy the calligraphy practice page). It’s a craft book not a Bible book so only part of the information is relevant to Bible journaling. Modern Calligraphy I haven’t practiced enough to be proficient yet but the first section by Laura Lavender is a very complete explanation of...Read More
My daughter (Hannah) and I recently attended an Illuminated Journaling Workshop taught by Jann Gray and hosted at Cedar Springs Christian Store in Knoxville, TN. It was a two day, three session workshop and I met a lot of wonderful people, had a lot of fun, and learned a lot. Friday night we had to drive through a rainstorm to get there and arrived a couple of minutes late. My daughter didn’t want to risk getting her camera wet so all of our pictures are from Saturday. Jann Gray is a very sweet and outgoing person with a lot...Read More
I just received my pre-release review copy of Tyndale’s Inspire Bible: Large Print Edition. We will have a full review, a various mediums in this Bible post, and maybe even a video review up before it’s September 8th release....Read More
Jann Gray was at the Illuminated Journaling Booth with close up footage of her work being broadcast on the screen above her and opportunities for all the store owners to try some of the art journaling medums themselves. Jann believes anyone can be creative given the right tools and encouragement (Her teacher said she wasn’t creative when she was younger and look at all the amazing artwork she does) and that all of us should find some way to interact with God’s word. She has worked closely with G.T. Luscombe (the last 3 photos are actually from their booth)...Read More

I asked some of them which product they most wanted my readers to be aware of and here are their answers. Christian Art Gifts Christian Art Gifts makes the My Creative Bible, along with a wide assortment of journals and coloring products. They are very proud of their entire...Read More
