I use ribbons to mark my place, but when I open to the ribbon and find four chapters on the two pages it marks I often don’t remember which chapter to read next. I sometimes end up reading the same chapter multiple times. An alternate of course is to mark the chapter or write it down, but that’s too cumbersome and I almost never have a pencil handy. If I have to go through extra steps I will eventually stop. Fortunately there’s an easy way around this without having to write anything down and it’s fast and easy. Before...Read More
One of the greatest advantages of the Clarion’s design is the verse numbers blend in more than most Bibles. This makes them easy to ignore and keeps the focus on the text. This is great for reading but it can be difficult for personal study or following along in Church or a group study. It can sometimes take several seconds to find a verse which can be frustrating and even awkward if you’re the preacher or leader. Today I’m showing you Joshua 1:9 in the Inspire Bible: Large Print Edition as the 3rd of my step by steps. I’d been thinking about joining a Bible art challenge. I thought joining a challenge would be a great way to hear how God has spoken to others through their journaling, learn about various art products and techniques, and possibly find some inspiration. I decided I’d start with one of...Read More
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Faber Castell Gelatos so I recently bought a set of metallic ones. I figured if I was curious how well they worked in different Bibles some of you would be too. I decided to start my experimentation in some of the journaling Bibles we’ve already featured and show you gelatos in various Bibles. The pack I purchased included 12 gelatos, 2 blending tools, and a brush. Just like in my various art mediums posts I’ve included the backs of the pages so you can see the amount of show through, bleed...Read More
Chalk It Up To Grace is a beautiful inspirational coloring book published by Paige Tate & Co. I was hoping to get this review up yesterday (National Coloring Book Day) but life happens. The pictures are printed on black backgrounds to look more like the chalkboard work that the artist, Shannon Roberts, is known for. 13 of the images come in both a small and large version. There are 29 8″ x 10″ designs and 14 5″ x 7″ designs in all. The book is made of thick paper that is perforated to be easily removed but you would...Read More
